We will become a school who will offer the same Technical subjects as before, but we will be offering additional qualifications to students, so when they leave our school it will not be only a Matric certificate in their hands.
We will partner with companies in the industry to help train our students so they are ready for the ‘adult’ world after school! We will also partner with companies to improve the facilities in our school.
At H.T.S. Pretoria‑Tuine, we are proud to be a School of Specialisation, the only bilingual Afrikaans‑and‑English SOS school in South Africa. This means that while learners can choose instruction in either Afrikaans or English, they will benefit from a curriculum designed to prepare them for the future world of work and study.
- Focus Areas
Our school places strong emphasis on technical and future‑ready subjects, including robotics and coding, 3D printing and design, Mechanical, electrical, and civil technology specialisations, and many more.
These areas give learners practical skills alongside academic knowledge, ensuring they are equipped for both higher education and employment.
- Operating Principles:
The SOS model is built on seven guiding principles that strengthen our school:
Partnerships with leading companies and organisations to provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities.
Learner sourcing through admissions assessments to ensure motivated learners thrive.
Teacher development with bursaries, training, and coaching to keep educators at the cutting edge of their fields.
- Multicertification Programme:
Every learner will have the chance to earn additional accredited skills each year, such as:
– Robotics and drone operation
– Driving licence training
– Technical certifications in specialised fields
-More options will be available each year
This ensures that learners graduate with more than just a matric, they leave with practical qualifications that open doors.
- Career Pathways:
Our goal is to connect learning directly to the world beyond school. Learners will benefit from internships and learnerships with industry partners, bursaries for further study, and alumni tracking to measure success and keep doors open for future opportunities.
- Community Programmes: Training for parents/community
The SOS model extends beyond learners. Our facilities and programmes will also be available to the community and parents, offering training and certification opportunities after school, on weekends, and during holidays. This makes our school a hub of growth and innovation for the entire community.
Becoming a School of Specialisation means more opportunities, stronger partnerships, and a future‑focused education. With bilingual instruction, advanced technical subjects, and real career pathways, we are truly “Geared for the future.”
